Translations FAQ

Translations and foreign equivalency evaluations serve different—but often complementary—purposes when reviewing international academic documents.  A translation converts a document from one language to another while preserving its meaning.  An evaluation determines how a foreign credential compares to U.S. education standards.

We've made it easy by providing an option to include translation services from within all our applications.  You can also order after you apply from our Additional Services page.

Choose the service that meets your needs.

For 1-8 pages:

When applying for education evaluation, students often must provide certified translations of personal documentation, such as previous education qualifications, name change documents, or visa-related documents. Without clear guidance and prior experience, navigating this process and finding suitable certified translators who meet university, licensing board, employer, or immigration requirements can be confusing and time-consuming.

FACS + Dialexy translations help international students access the highest quality certified translations effortlessly.

Can I get a refund for a translation service after submitting my documents?

Once we have received your documents and translation work has begun, the translation fee is non-refundable. This policy is in place because translation services require time and resources to begin immediately upon receipt.

What if I submitted the wrong documents?

Please contact us immediately. If translation has not yet started, we may be able to accommodate changes. However, once work has begun, the fee remains non-refundable.

What if I no longer need the translation?

We understand that circumstances change. However, because our team begins work promptly, the fee is non-refundable once documents are received.

No, FACS requires certified English translations fro all documents not originally in English.  You may not submit your own translations, even if you are fluent in English.

You may submit certified English translations from a non-related certified English translator.  These certified English translations must include:

  • A complete, accurate translation of the original document
  • A certification page signed by the translator, verifying the accuracy of the translation and their qualifications.

Be sure to use a professional translation service to meet these requirements.
